Defending the Duchess

Not everyone agreed with the criticism. Some viewers quickly pushed back, offering alternative explanations.

One suggested: “Who is going to explain… those 2 white eggs are probably the chocolate eggs she hid for her two children to find on Easter Day?”

Others with firsthand experience of raising chickens also weighed in. One wrote: “I will have to disagree with you on this one. I have a small flock of silkies and other breeds and 90% of my eggs come out pristine and I don’t need to wash. Maybe it’s smaller flocks and less stress?”

Another defended the scene, saying: “As I chicken owner myself, I have to disagree. My chickens pretty much always lay clean eggs, except when the weather was bad and they have muddy feet.”

A further comment backed this up with personal evidence: “I’m no fan of hers, but mine come out clean pretty often. A lot of the time they’re disgusting too, but it’s also common for them to be clean. This was from Easter morning!”

Criticism Beyond the Eggs

The debate didn’t stop at the eggs. Some viewers also questioned the overall tone of the video, with one critic calling the Easter post “sad.”
