The Princess Royal, now 75, was attending a state banquet hosted by King Charles III to mark Nigeria’s first official state visit to the UK in nearly four decades. Yet it was her choice of outfit, rather than the historic event itself, that sparked widespread admiration.
A Fashion Moment 57 Years in the Making

Sharp-eyed royal fans soon realized that Anne’s coat was far from new. In fact, it had first been worn by her in 1969, when she was just 18 years old.
That earlier appearance took place at the London premiere of Run Wild, Run Free. At the time, the young princess styled the coat open, revealing a decorative inner layer with bold patterns along the collar and hem. Paired with a classic updo and clutch bag, the look perfectly reflected late-1960s elegance.
Nearly six decades later, the same coat made a remarkable return.
Carefully Preserved, Thoughtfully Updated

Despite the passage of time, several distinctive features of the coat remain unchanged. The textured fabric and the geometric circular detailing on the cuffs are still clearly visible, linking the present look directly to its original design.
